HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
We trust our members had an enjoyable break over the festive season despite the devastating fires. We take this opportunity to wish everyone the very best for 2020.
A reminder that cricket starts up again for the Juniors on Saturday, January 18. Any players unable to make this match are asked to let their coach or manager know ASAP to allow for possible replacements.
SEASON SO FAR...
As we move into the new year and the countdown to the finals let's look at how our sides are faring.
Both the 10s are sitting mid ladder with 10 Blue winning their two most recent matches. All players are developing their skills and we look forward to them notching up a few more wins before the season concludes.
11 Gold are sitting just outside the top four in 5th position. We hope the players return ready to work hard in their remaining matches and hopefully secure a spot in the semis. Good luck 11 Gold!
What a fantastic season 11 Blue have had so far, they are undefeated and sitting on top of the ladder! There have been some great performances so far ... Tasal Barburi has scored over 200 runs and taken 19 wickets; Kaito Forrest has taken 16 wickets; Rhys Nicoll has also scored over 200 runs. Keep up the great work 11 Blue!
The Under 12 competition has been split into first and second divisions. 12 Gold are in first division and although they sit in last place, they are only one win out of the top four in what is a very tight competition. With hard work there is no doubt 12 Gold can make the semis. Good luck!
12 Blue have been placed in second division and are currently in third spot. This too is a tight competition with all teams able to make the semis so our players will have to continue playing well to hold onto their position in the top four.
14 Gold are yet to record a win,, although they have managed a tie, yet this does not reflect the attitude and commitment of the players. They continue to train well and do their very best each week and as a club that is all we ask of them. Keep playing with this spirit and enjoy the remainder of the season.
15 Gold are in the top four and are in a good position to secure a spot in the semis. A highlight so far has been Corey Dunn's century. He also sits on top of the wicket takers for this competition. We wish the 15s well and hope they take their good form into the semis.
A terrific season so far for the 16s who lead their competition. A highlight was Bailey Tebbutt's century in round 8. We wish them well for the remainder of the season in what is a very even competition which any team could win on their day.
Senior teams were back on the park on Saturday, January 11. At this stage, all of our senior teams are in a position to secure a position in the top four. They all need a few more wins in this back end of the season to lock down a spot.
5th Grade currently sit in third place in a close competition.
6th Grade sit in fifth spot but can certainly make the four with a few more wins over the next few weeks.
7th Grade are also in fifth spot but only one win out of the four.
8th Grade are actually in equal fourth place but sit outside on averages.
With no January meeting held, our next monthly meeting will take place in the Myrtle Room of Penrith RSL on Tuesday, February 18 at 8pm. This is an important meeting as we prepare for the semis. Look forward to seeing you there!
